Few have made efforts to create culturally informed and appropriate health information for African Americans. Fewer have done so with a focus on clinical trials. Our approach to engage African Americans in the co-creation of clear clinical trial and health education materials is unique. We pair insights gained from focus groups with African American community leaders, with plain language, health literacy, and design best practices to clearly communicate complex science information, create awareness about clinical trials, and change the way people view and understand research.
